The Newtown Historic Association will conduct the annual Fifth Grade Walking Tour on Wednesday, June 7th begins at 9:30 am and runs until noon.

Approximately 400 children from Goodnoe Elementary School, St. Andrew’s Elementary School, and St. Albert the Great School will take a self guided walking tour through the Borough and Township visiting 10 historic sites – this tour goes on – rain or shine.

The tour begins at the Old Presbyterian Church on Sycamore St. and then continues in the borough – Newtown Movie Theatre, District Court, Newtown Borough Hall/Police Station, Bird in Hand Tavern, Justice House, Newtown Friends Meeting, Newtown Fire Association, Newtown Library Company and the Half Moon (Court Inn).

The Newtown Historic Association has run this tour for over 45 years. Peg Walker, NHA volunteer, coordinates the schools and the historic sites.
