June 5, 2019 @ 9:30 am - 12:00 pm

The Newtown Historic Association will conduct the annual Fifth Grade Walking Tour on Wednesday, June 5th. The tour begins at 9:30 am and runs until approximately noon.

Over 150 children from Goodnoe Elementary School, and Grey Nun Academy will take a self guided walking tour through the Borough and Township visiting 10 historic sites – this tour goes on – rain or shine.

The tour begins at both the Old Presbyterian Church on Sycamore St. and the Newtown Movie Theatre depending on the school. The tour then continues in the borough to the District Court, Newtown Borough Hall/Police Station, Bird in Hand Tavern, Justice House, Newtown Friends Meeting, Newtown Fire Association, Newtown Library Company and the Half Moon (Court Inn).

The Newtown Historic Association has run this tour for over 45 years. This has proved to be a very popular event with the children and enables them to learn about their heritage.
